For the many favors The Virgin of the Mercedes has granted to the
Tucuman people, the city council named her Patroness and Advocate of
The city of tucuman in 1687. She is credited with the victory of Argentina
In the battle of tucuman September 24th 1812. This battle settled the fate
Of the United provinces of Rio de la Plata. In this battle the Spaniards
Were about three thousand, and the Argentinians a barely one thousand
Eight hundred. Argentinian General Belgrano, placed his trust in God and
In Our Lady of the Mercedes, whom he chose as Patroness of his Army.
His troops were under the protection of Our Lady.
The morning of September 24th 1812 and day of battle, General Belgrano
Had been praying for a long time before the Altar of the Virgin Mary.
The Argentinian Army won the victory. Belgrano send the news to the
Government that the victory was won on the Feast day of Our Lady de
las Mercedes, placing emphasis on the Fact that his troops had placed
themselves under her protection.

Our brother in Christ, Father Dante writes:
Dear brothers and sisters of Argentina and the World, I wish to tell you in synthesis a humble story, filled with emotion and one we will never forget. The story is about how a replica of the authentic painting of “The Virgin Mary Untier of Knots, reached our parish of Tucuman.
For 46 years, our parish has been enthrusted to the protection and presence of “The immaculate Conception”
Many priest, nuns, lay people have passed thru here, leaving the seed of the Gospel in the hearts of the people, the presence of Mary has been fundamental, she has witness the birth of the new neighborhood of San Cayetano; she was and is the breath and Light that watched us grow and also walked with us on our journey of faith, with her humble presence she has thought us to love Jesús.
Its been five years since this community counts with the authentic replica of the image of “The Virgin Mary Untier of Knots”, and the only parish in tucuman who has the pleasure to have custody of this miraculous image, brought from Buenos Aires Argentina.
How did it get here? In an airplane, but thanks to the captain of the plane, who found out about the miraculous image of The Mother of God, ordered immediately that Our Lady should not travel with the luggage or basement, but first class, he ordered that Our Lady occupy a seat next to the pilot’s cabin.
The community had prepared themselves to greet Our Lady early in the morning, but the plane was late, tired and dissapointed, many people went home hoping that Our Lady will get here the next day, but by God’s grace, the church bells rang at 00.00 hrs and first minutes of Dicember 8th. The Airport had send the news to the church that the image had arrived, the community began to gather in the church to welcome Our Mother as they heard the bells ring. The people greeted Our Mother Mary with a warm applause, bells, fireworks and many cheers.
Since that day, our parish always celebrates the 8th of each month, because her children found refuge in her. They have discover the true protectress, always ready to listen to her children. Now a days many pilgrims make their visit from all sides of tucuman, they come filled with faith to ask Our Lady for a special grace, they know that their Mother Mary waits for them, listens and solves their problems, they know that she unties the knots: of indiference, of the lack of work, of sickness, disease, anguish and many other ailments we suffer today. We know from faith that she will untie the knots of all the confusion that fills our Hearts and mind, confussion caused by so many sects that confuse and lie, sects that want for us to change the road we are taking. Many pilgrims come with so much hope, they want to give her thanks for the knots she has already untied, even the most difficult knots, but most of all, they wish to give her thanks for filling their empty hearts, how many tears are shed, how much trust is placed in the hands of our mother, how many come here confused and go back home renewed and ready to continue with the battle and not lower their arms. I wish to comment on how we live the celebration of the Mass here in tucuman: With Love, with loving eyes towards our mother, joy and sorrow is blended to become hope, Strenght , Life etc….
How many are the prayer intentions left in the prayer baskets, everyone is united in prayer, interceding for one another with the daily prayer of the Holy Rosary. Many find the peace of forgiveness in their Heart thru the sacrament of Reconciliation. Their is great devotion to Jesús in the Blessed Sacrament and love is felt as they worship him in his real presence. We give thanks to our Mother Mary for so much peace and so much joy.
On this month of May, we again await the visit of our pilgrim brothers and sisters, to pray with and for them, On the feast day of Our Lady of Lujan Patroness of the republic of Argentina, we pray most especially for our country. We will Start with the Prayer of the Holy Rosary by the servers at 6:00, Celebration of the Mass at 6:30, 10:00, 4:00pm and 8:30pm, prayer of the Holy Rosary will be said every 30minutes, 3:00pm is the Eucharist adoration, confessions during each Mass. We will sing the Argentinian National Anthem and we will pray for our country together.
Our Mother awaits for us, and like all good children we should bring her a gift, the gift she desires the most.
I SUGGEST YOU BRING 3 ROSES FOR MARY
1st Rose: Offer her the prayer of the Holy Rosary;
2nd Rose : Make a good examination of concience and come to the sacrament of reconciliation, ask forgiveness with all your heart for sins committed that have offended God and neighbor;
3rd Rose: Offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, by participating with joy and receiving the Eucharist with true devotion and commitment.
We venerate The Virgin Mary Untier of Knots on the 8th of every month, because she did not wish to arrive on the 7th, she arrived on the day the Church is filled with joy and love for our Blessed Mother, for this reason, year by year, month by month, our parish becomes the home for all, where songs and prayers are joined. It is my wish to let everyone know of the blessings we have received here since 2003 and I invite you to join us in prayer.

Tucuman is the smallest city in range of the Republic of Argentina. It is one of the oldest since the dominion of Spain. In geography this city has been blessed by God with great climate and blessed lands. The independence of the United Provincias del Rio de la Plata was proclaimed here from Spanish dominion. The tucuman people had always suffer from bad goverments, but their people never lost hope because of their extraordinary faith. I give them my personal support in addition to the fact that my father was born in this remote city.

This Virtual Shrine is the beginning of the Veneration and
Social Works of the organizations who collaborate from their
Different positions. We do fundraisers by selling sweets and
Candys in a church stand, on Fridays we have a small festival
Called the one cent used clothing etc..we do all this to support
Two soup kitchens: Divino Nino Soup Kitchen and Vasquez
Soup kitchen (the famous basural) in it we serve breakfast,
Lunch and dinner to 250 people, children, elderly, the homeless
and pregnant women. This soup kitchen its here by Divine
Providence, we do not count with the help of the government,
Not even after the big news of the homeless people of the
Basural( this news traveled the World) Both soup kitchens
Count with the help of volunteers who help serve and prepare
Small grocery bags.

“ Since I arrived to this parish as Pastor of this church, I have learned to celebrate each 8th l

of the month.
( Father Marcelo was the previous priest ,he was in charge of the parish administration, he belonged to the charismatic movement). He truly live this journey of the eight of each month, He would tell the people to choose a marian title and offer 1000 Hail Mary’s for their intentions. I am sure that I do not posess the same qualities as Father Marcelo, but I will try to be a good pastor, this change in priest has caused a crisis in this community, but little by little and with lots of prayer, I stand firm and sure of my obligations as pastor and guide to this community, that is why I take this opportunity to ask you to please continue to speak about the teachings on who is Mary Untier of Knots and that she continues to reign in this neighborhood, even when we priest only pass thru here, you should continue to be faithful. I am collecting experiences, miracles and conversations from the pilgrims to send to you.
