A veneration to Mary originated during these years, based on some prints
acquired by the current
Archbishop Jorge Mario Bergoglio (year 2000), at St. Peter am Perlach Church,
on a trip to the
city of Augsburg. Up to now, it was referred to as a “Baroque painting
by unknown painter and
uncertain date” and that the image was meant to portrait the “original
sin” with all its
consequences. The Image that was Enthroned at San Jose de Talar Parish
was a painting derived
from a prayer card, which had a copy of the original Image in Germany.
Which is actually the
Main Shrine of Our Lady as Untier of Knots in the world. (She has about
40-60,000 pilgrims visiting
on the 8th of each month)
In the investigation of this image, we find that the donor, Hieronymus
Ambrosius Langenmantel,
priest and doctoral canonigal (1666-1709) of St. Peter am Perlach, had
commissioned this painting
for a family altar, for private reasons linked to his family. The
true facts are that the noble Wolfgang
Langenmantel, married to Sophie Imhoff (1612) and on the verge of divorce,
paid a visit to Jakob
Rem SJ, in Ingolstadt. Father Rem prayed before an image of
the Virgin Mary (Mary of the
Victory.) In “a solemn ritual act, I raise the matrimonial ribbon,
untying all the knots and smoothing
it out” (*), with this, the couple avoided the divorce and the marriage
continued.
The altarpiece was dedicated to The Virgin Sisters of the Good Council”.
The history of the
Count’s own family is captured in the painting. The painter, Johann
Melchior Georg Schmittdner,
represents it as the Virgin Mary "untying the knots of married
life’s ribbon". It is clear from the
iconography study, that Genesis doesn’t contain any referring element to
the written tradition.
It is possible that, due to lack of knowledge about its true origin, other
meaning could have been
attributed to this work. In it, Mary stands out as Saint Woman, family
helper and counselor.
As Lawyer, Auxiliary and Mediator, before our Lord Jesus Christ Son of
God.
If Mary, the one who unties knots, provides us with her aid the solution
to the intricacies of the
matrimonial web, "Who better than her to untie all the knots of our
life!"
Out of respect to the devotees of this representation of the Virgin Mary,
we give out the real data
so this lack of knowledge doesn't generate ´mysterious origins´
which always create false
interpretations and magic or esoteric deviations. These investigations
and its results are available
to the priests of our church for a healthy catechesis.

The Matrons of Honor placed the matrimonial ribbon as representation that
an invisible knot
would unite the bride and groom forever. During the wedding ceremony,
this ribbon joined the
couple’s arms.

Note:
On May 8th 2003, Father Alejandro Russo, General Vicar of the MAIN SHRINE
in the
Republic of Argentina, published a catechesis based on the finding of my
research. 35,000 flyers
were distributed between the pilgrims and the devotees.
