FOUNDATIONAL DECLARATION OF THE “INTERNATIONAL FRATERNITY OF THE
VIRGIN MARY UNTIER OF KNOTS”
The foundational declaration reads as follows: Therefore the association
called “Fraternity of the Virgin Mary Untier of Knots” is a Christian organization
and its members belong to the Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church, they
may be from a religious order or of the Laity and under the canons of the
Holy See. This Lay Association does not belong or is under the laws of
any particular country yet is at the service of the catholic faithful through
out the world and of the Universal Church. The principal goal of this committed
lay association is to spread devotion to the Virgin Mary under the title
of “Untier of Knots” at national and International levels and to achieve
the acceptance of this Marian devotion with the title “Untier of Knots”
in the Litany of Loreto in addition to the ones that already exist with
the approval of Vatican authorities.
It is our intention that this devotion be accepted in the same manner
as all the other Marian devotions, without decreasing in the honor due
to the Patroness of that country, institution or prayer group. Having the
understanding that this recent devotion even thou the image (a painting)
is dated from the XVI century, it depicts an exact picture of the way the
world is today, in where the problems affect the family due to moral disintegration
in society, which causes in itself a direct effect on the individual, adding
to this the conflicts between the nations creating what we symbolically
call “The Knots in the ribbon of Life”
Taking into account the vast manifestation of faith brought about in
so many countries is that we understand that Our Blessed Virgin Mary has
revealed herself to us.
The People of God felt the call of the Mother of the Son without an
apparition, miracle or any other event worthy of veneration; we clearly
interpret this as a “Manifestation of The Virgin Mary”
“We adopt and conceive the dogmatic teachings on her virtues as written
on the II Vatican Council DOGMATIC CONSTITUTION –LUMEN GENTIUM, CHAPTER
VIII- Art. 62: Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked by the Church under
the titles of Advocate, Auxiliatrix, Adjutrix, and Mediatrix. This, however,
is to be so understood that it neither takes away from nor adds anything
to the dignity and efficaciousness of Christ the one Mediator.
ABOUT THE DEVOTION
September 28th is the day established as feast day, according the records.
The Virgin Mary Untier of Knots is Patroness of Marriage problems, individual
problems and of the nations.
We accept the symbolic iconography of Our Lady “untying the knots of
a ribbon” which means that with her counsel and help the knots (problems)
in the ribbon of life will be untie. These are Real problems from our current
times, without any connotation arising from the Old or New Testament.
We adopt as our Main Prayer the one written by an anonymous author,
a prayer that was enriched by its Evangelical and Pastoral essence, this
prayer may be susceptible to modifications without altering its essence.
We established the 28th of each month, as “Day of Prayer and Petition”,
on this day we will bring all prayer intentions sent by the devotees before
the image of The Virgin Mary, we will pray the Holy Rosary, preferably
in a church with the authorization of the priest, or it may be prayed in
the homes or another proper place.
With the hope of not falling into any magic or esoteric deviations or
any practice that is not a sound veneration to the Virgin Mary, is that
we adopt as our icon, the original image or copies of the existing painting
from St. Petar am Perlach in Augsburg Germany painted in the year 1699
by Johann Georg Melchior Schmidtnner.
Devotees will need to gather in Groups at least twice of month in the
place they designate, with the goal of having a catechetical talk directed
by a Guide and The Prayer of the Holy Rosary.
The Image of The Virgin Mary will be placed under a Crucifix.
It is obligatory to say the following prayers in the gathering: The
Act of Contrition, The Creed, The Our Father and the Hail Mary, followed
by our official Prayer and prayer intentions.
It is permitted to also add the regular prayers traditional of each
city or country, you may also incorporate music, songs and Bible verses
during the veneration.
It is permitted to adorn the place with flowers either in the church
or in another place, you may perfume with incense and the Paschal Candle
or you may use small candles.
After the Prayer group gathering, we recommend fraternal fellowship.
Details should be recorded in writing tablets or books.
ABOUT THE UNIVERSALITY OF THE FRATERNITY
The Fraternity will be established in Real form not in Virtual form.
The use of Virtual communication for the Veneration of the devotion to
the Virgin Mary Untier of Knots thru the internet will be only to spread
the devotion and to communicate in a faster and more economical means globalize
in today’s modern world and endorse by THE DECREE OF INTER MIRIFICA ABOUT
THE MEANS OF SOCIAL COMMUNICATION signed in Rome, St. Peter, December 4th,
1963.
The Fraternity will be established in a real form, at a time and in
a physical place, the Internet means of communication will only be used
in matters of the International Fraternity.
The International Fraternity of the Virgin Mary Untier of Knots will
be established as a non- profit civil entity with Registered Corporate
Representation before the authorities.
Second step and fundamental goal of great importance, is the recognition
of our Lay Organization to be recognized by Vatican authorities.
