INTERNATIONAL FRATERNITY
OF THE VIRGIN MARY UNTIER OF KNOTS
(Maria Als Knotenlöserin) (Virgen Desatanudos)

CATECHESIS ON THE VIRGIN MARY’S TITLES

When we speak about “Titles” it should be understood that we always honor “ Only one Virgin
Mary”, generally speaking sometimes a doubt will arise that will tend to change the devotion into
a false and neo-pagan practice with new heresies of the XXI Century. Mary is the Mother of
Jesus, the one that gave “flesh to the Divine Word”, she conceived like any mother would, so
that Our Lord Jesus Christ would fulfilled the mandate of the Father Our God, to bring the Divine
Word( The Word made flesh) to suffer as a common man that carried the cross to purge for our
sins and to open the way to Eternal Life, with the promised Resurrection. This role of the Virgin
Mary and the role of being the first disciple of Jesus, makes her Holy.

We as Catholics are accustomed to illustrate what we cannot see, with something physical, for
example: The Holy Spirit with a dove, Jesus with the cross etc…To venerate the Saints we
make paintings or statues that try to depict in a symbolic manner each of the saints attributes.
An image from a painting that is well made is composed of several elements that will synthesize
the message of evangelization that one wants to give. The first Image of the Virgin Mary was
painted by Saint Luke the apostle, doctor , writer and painter. In this illustration and as a codex,
we see the Holy woman with a child and he writes in Greek the symbols of the Mother of God.
All the other “Madonna’s ” that followed , came from this one. The person that painted them
gave them the titles of: Salus Populi Romani ( Help of the city of Rome), Our Lady of the Snows
and continuing to more than two thousand titles known for the one and only Virgin Mary, the
suffering women of Nazareth. Each title is an “ advocation”.

A title (advocation)  is given to an image when it pertains to a place (city, town etc…) or a gift
that flows from her graces. Our Lady of Guadalupe is Mary at Guadalupe Mexico. Our Lady
of Lujan is also Mary because her image was enthroned in the City of Lujan in Argentina. Our
Lady of Fatima, because she appeared in Fatima Portugal. Our Lady of the Rosary because she
brought us the rosary, Our Lady’s apparition (of Brazil) because she appeared to some fisherman
in the midst of their nets, and so forth. All and each Image that we venerate need to have a
foundation and a history that will support it. It is a sin of idolatry to venerate and even worst to
adore an image without knowing clearly who we are referring to, even if the image looks like the
    Virgin Mary.

It is an irreverence to Our Lady to invoke her before any physical element that does not
represent her. This is a frequent problem in the Latin American Countries in where due to
immigration, images where brought without even knowing the name or their true origin. The rest
was done by African and Indian influence. I have seen in several South American Countries,
that Our Lady  The Virgin Mary Untier of Knots, has been enthroned under the title “Virgen
desatanudos” or “Our Lady of Knotenloserin” without even knowing a little bit about her
or her true history, falling into the sin of idolatry without even knowing it and being at risk of
magic and esoteric deviations. Many ubanda cults, healers and astrologers make use of the
    Image of Our Lady.

This was my main reason for doing the research and togive content first to the history and
second to the significance of the symbols that are in the painting. The interpretation of the
painting has to be exact for us to be able to have a sound veneration. We should teach a
catechesis on the title so that it may bring a clear message of evangelization. In the case of
Our Lady the Virgin Mary Untier of Knots and because her origin was not known in the
beginning, the painting was define as a character related to the Apocalypse and the writing
of St. Irineous of Lyon in where he writes of the parallels between Eve and Mary:
«Eve’s knot of desobedience was untied by Mary’s obedience.» This statement of the II century
could be applied to this painting if another history did not exist like the one we have already
investigated, therefore this painting is Mary “The one that unties knots, the knots of the
matrimonial life and also of the people and of the nations.

We ourselves like it when people call us by our name or last name. Our Lady will be very
happy when we refer to her with the precision she deserves. All these details , foundations and
precisions are found in my book “Maria Als Virgin Mary Untier of Knots- The True History”
This book has the approval of the Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church.

    WHY THE 28TH OF SEPTEMBER

«On day 28th», and the last day promised by Father Jakob Rem S.J. Wolfgang went on the
fourth Saturday of the 28th day in which the nobleman had finished with his daily prayers and
his final visit to the monastery of Ingolstad before the image of The Virgin Mary under the title
of Our Lady of the Snows. «On that day September 28th 1615, the venerable father Jakob
takes the matrimonial ribbon , untying the last knot and smoothing the ribbon before the Virgin
Mary pronouncing strong and heartfelt prayers for the couple and repeating in a loud voice and
almost to a musical cadence, many phrases could have  touched the most hardened soul.

As Father Jakob elevates the ribbon, the painter (Hans) was able to see with tears in his eyes
when " The ribbon was acquiring such pure white that not even his palate could have produce"
This words the painter transmits to his son Johann many years later.

It was the same color of white as in the day that Wolfgang and Sophie made their marriage
vows, splendid  white like the moon that guided the nobleman at night and pure like the lilies
of Ingolsdat. On the 28th day during the night a very exited and happy Wolfgang returns to his
    home in Augsburg.

When he arrives home, he rested and fell asleep like never before in his life. On Sunday he meets
with Sophie and they embrace surrounded by their little children. Wolfgang shows Sophie « The
matrimonial ribbon, white and radiant like the lilies of the Virgin Mary of Ingolsdat » The ribbon
was firm and smooth as it was on the first day of their wedding, by this, they both understood
    everything.

On that day the four ( The couple and their two children) went to St. Peter to give thanks to
God and to Our Lady. Once inside the Church they take the ribbon and " again unite their arms
in the same way their Godparents did on the day of the wedding", renewing in this manner their
marriage wows with heartfelt prayers ».

This is the reason why I chose September 28th as the Feast day of the Virgin Mary Untier of
Knots. Although by tradition we honor the Virgin Mary every 8th of each month with processions
to the place where she is located, and on the 28th of each month as the day of Prayer and
   Petitions.
